Rehearsals are not what they were!

Conventional rehearsals and associated activities are currently suspended in  compliance with  CoViD19  recommended precautions.  Under our virtual choir model rehearsals and group interactions are conducted online using the ZOOM software application and the DropBox repository application.  Installation is simple, however assistance is available if needed.  Don't let the technology deter you.

With whole-choir rehearsals suspended, online sectional rehearsals (ZOOM) and solitary at-home practice are the necessary preparation tools for learning and recording individual parts.

For your enlightenment, the following excerpt describes the "old normal" before current health precautions were implemented:

Rehearsals start in early September and early January.  New members are welcome to join at those times. We rehearse in the basement of St. Peter Lutheran Church (713-4th Street) in Downtown Castlegar every Thursday evening from 7:00pm-9:00pm. There are no rehearsals during July and August.

As a non-auditioned choir, there is no requirement for members to be able to read music.

Audio tracks for each song are provided to the

members to be able to practise on their own.

Commitment:

The Fall season is from September-December with weekly rehearsals, plus optional weekly sectional practices.  We perform 3 concerts around the second weekend of December.

The Spring season is from January-June with weekly rehearsals, plus optional weekly sectional practices.  We perform 3 concerts around the end of May/early June.  We also perform at Sunfest and at Music In The Park.

Members are strongly encouraged to attend all weekly rehearsals.

If you miss more than three rehearsals in a season, than we ask that you consider whether you are ready to perform in the concerts.

Members are welcome to participate in rehearsals and not perform in concerts if they so choose.
